Welcome to the Website of the Seventh Irano-Judaica Conference
The conference commemorates our dear friend and colleague the late Professor Amnon Netzer (1934-2008) .
The conference focuses on topics which were a matter of Prof. Netzer’s scholarly interest, such as Judeo-Persian language and literature, folklore, history and material culture of Iranian Jewry from the pre-Islamic period to the present.
Over twenty scholars, both from Israel and abroad, are going to participate in the event, presenting papers on the spectrum of subjects during the three-day tight schedule.
The conference is supported by the Irano-Judaica Society, as well as by grants from the Authority for Research and Development of the Hebrew University; the Misgav Yerushalayim Institute for Research of the Sephardi and Oriental Heritage; and the Ben-Zvi Institute for the Study of Jewish Communities in the East, which hosts the opening reception of the conference.
